For those of you who know the Thrifter’s Guide History. We have had a journey. We started out as a thrift & consignment store directory and slowly grew into an eBay and online E-commerce Second Hand store.
The world of Second Hand finds fascinated me. Not only for the chance to re-use some really amazing Items and save the landfills, but also having found quality Brand name items for a lot less than paying Retail store prices!
Traditionally, The younger children wore the hand-me-downs of the older ones. Which in some ways left some children feeling less than appreciative. Things have changed so much that now we hand down clothes to strangers! And we are grateful! Most people feel good about donating their used clothes. Or selling them. (Consignment) I look at it romantically, Pass something that I loved onto someone who can love it again. Maybe wear the secondhand outfit it on a date, or at a prom. They are still unique because you have never worn them!
I am passionate about finding unique and quality items to pass on to others.
There is a bit of treasure hunting involved. Which makes it more special. You scan racks of clothing until you find those few that strike a memory, or feel like quality in your hands.
A lot of thrift items are vintage. Vintage is like a good wine! How cool is it to find something that was around when you were growing up? Or something your mom might have worn? True Vintage is amazingly sought after. Who wouldn’t want to capture some of the olden days?
